If you don’t know it, there’s a poster that you’ll find in some cubicles and offices around the world. It’s called the Holstee Manifesto and was written up by “Dave, Mike and Fabio” and designed by “Rachel.” I know that because their names are in small print on the bottom. I have no idea who they are.
The company that created it is a retail brand, but the words are bigger than a marketing pitch for clothing.
This is your LIFE. Do what you love, and do it often.
If you don’t like something, change it.
If you don’t like your job, quit.
If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV.
If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.
Stop over-analyzing, LIFE IS SIMPLE. All emotions are beautiful.
When you eat, appreciate every last bite.
Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences.
Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them.
TRAVEL OFTEN; getting lost will help you find yourself.
Some opportunities come only once; seize them.
Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating.
LIFE IS SHORT. Live your dream AND SHARE YOUR PASSION.
The words that jump out at me are life, short and passion. They’re the the concepts that get lost in the day to day grind of living, which is too often just getting from bed to office, meeting to meeting, or day to day. When I saw it in an office, it was a great reminder, something we can’t get often enough.
This is your reminder.
